Anyone else have problem with framerate on the actual movie?
The "world" is running at a smooth framerate, but the movie is running perhaps at 10fps.
Cpuload for playing the movie without rift is something like 5-10%

I have the FFDshow codecs and have no issues.

I have this problem, especially with 3D movies. Seems it has to do with decoding information in the beginning. Fast forward about 10 minutes in and see if you still have the problem. I need to fiddle with hardware decoding perhaps.

Yes, the distance of the environments in wrong somehow and causes eyestrain. I'd like to hear from the developer. Hello...?

Seriously guys... Why is it that only a few people actually see that the scale is completely wrong ?
I find it obvious, I can't even use cineveo like that !

I don't see any scale problem. I just watched another movie and looked around looking for a scale problem and it all seemed natural to me.

I was also getting framerate problems for awhile on 3D movies, and found out that running the demo/movie off an SSD makes a HUGE difference. Also, something that helped get rid of any framerate problem was add -force-d3d11. So to almost completely eliminate stuttering/frame-rate issue, run off an SSD and -force-d3d11. I was also using Direct, which worked fine (DK2)

My desktop:
i5 2500k series,
OCed 290X Tri-X,
8g ram,
2TB HDD
500 Gb SSD

Make sure you have the codec. I suggest you get K-lite. It's one of the most complete collection of codecs

I also bought this one. Would like to see an ordinary cinema as well, but was looking for a vr player that worked atm. Unfortunately this one stutters quite bad when playing a movie. Don´t know how to improve this.

Playing on a i7 3770k and a r9 290, so it shouldn´t be my setup I guess?
