New ZVR Apocalypse Playable Demo - Updated V3!

Hi Guys,

We got a lot of great feedback from everyone and we decided to implement some of the most common requests or address the things that people were most disappointed with. We're glad we made these changes because they have made a huge difference to how the game plays hope a lot more people take the time to check it out.

Latest Update (V3):

Hopefully this fixed the Mouse Button issues people were having. We also added a Option Menu which as a Checkbox for Aim toggle so you don't have to hold it down and can remain in First Person Mode. Note you can't run while aiming or enter cover at this stage.

Hi,
I rarely post but I have to say that what you made here is incredible !
I'm a VR enthousiast, I rarely make any critisism but I was very disappointed with the first version of your game.
But now...like someone said before : a COMPLETELY different game... It is in its early stage but I can say without lying that it is almost the VR game I enjoyed the most.
You were very smart listen to all the feedbacks.
I will back this one and I am eager to see the rest 🙂

Much more enjoyable to me. You guys have done an amazing job in a ridiculously short amount of time. Hat's off!

- Even though the first person mode is great and is probably going to get the preferred one, I'd still leave the 3rd person free-aiming option in.
- Right analog sensitivity setting is going to be a must but you obviously already knew that. 🙂

Can't wait for the full game!

Very cool demo. A totally unique experience with the third person, I felt it helps with the motion sickness. I also love the freaky moment when you die, and the zombies get right up to your face and start eating you. Great job!

This is much better! But you need to ditch the third person completely.
Also you need a reticule that is easier to see so you can blow the heads off.

Looks like it can be good. I could not get direct to rift to work, had to make DK2 main display, and then coax it over to the DK2. When I got in I had very bad frames, like 5 fps. Probably some combination of display errors with the extended desktop and DK2 as main display.

Looks like it can be good, I just was unable to do much due to bad FPS, and when I clicked the mouse it dropped to desktop, then when I click the icon from bar to reopen the window I had the oculus health warning again which screwed things up.

But again the camera seemed to flow right with 3rd person.

EDIT

Retried it after figuring out how to cleanly get it to display on rift in extended. Looks good but I could not figure out how to shoot without zooming. So I could not use the cover system. But it is a good start and worthy of investing in. I wish you luck.

We will be staying with 3rd person as this is much lower impact for motion sickness and you can run. You are unable to run in First Person which also helps to prevent motion sickness.

There should be a Red Dot on the end of the laser but I think there may be a bug and it isn't rendering.

Yeah we'll add a variety of sensitivity settings in as well eventually.

Not sure whats happening there, are you using Mouse and Keyboard or an XBox controller?

I found a bug today with the mouse input we will release another version soon!
