Sorry if this is dumb, but I have to ask. I got my CV1 a couple or three weeks ago, and, believe it or not, have only today got around to actually taking it out of the box. My main reasons for getting it is ED and FSX/P3D/Xplane (to be used with "fly inside" 3rd party app). MY Pc runs Win 10 x64 bit. I have X52, and a GTX970 G1 Gamer GPU. (saving for a 1070). My rig has an Asus Z87K mobo, an i7 4770 @4.4Ghz CPU, and 16Gb Ram. C: is SSD, as are the data drives. Display wise, I use Triple head 2 go with 3x 32" Samsung Monitors. All drivers are current. Iv had a couple of instances today when the rift has gone dark on me with an accompanying "bingbong" disconnect sound. This is followed very quickly by a reconnect sound When I take it off, the mirrored display is ok on the monitor, and seems to be working as it should, but the rift remains dark. I wondered if it makes a lot of difference whats running in the background. Other than the usual security stuff, I dont go in for lots of system tray apps. So, I guess what I'm asking is: how much of a difference does that stuff make? What is the likely cause of the disconnect? Does it matter what monitors I am running concurrently with Rift? Any hints or tips to better the experience?. If background process matter that much, Is there a prog that can be run to minimise background processes etc prior to running Rift/Steam. Even with this going on, Im delighted with the Rift, and am so pleased that ED plays as well as I had hoped.(notwithstanding these other issues) Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
