No Xbox controller option poll

A thread to show how many people would like an option to buy CV1 without the Xbox controller.

I personally dislike them and now am being forced to buy one which will just get thrown out. Other people already own controllers etc.

Hands up who would like a option to buy the Rift without a Xbox controller.

Can i have mine with a Steam Controller? if it must be something retro from the arcade halls.

Does the Vive controllers work too?

maybe let us choose at the preorder/order what we want? :

Rift + PS4 Controller wireless/wired
Rift + Xbox Controller wireless/wired
Rift + Wii U Controller
Rift + Steam Controller
Rift + Vive Controller
Rift + Touch
Rift + N64 Controller
...

Although I agree the option to bundle the controller should be there I don't believe that should be the only option available. I have multiple 360 controllers and a steam controller on order I don't need an xb1 controller especially since I don't even like the xb1 and would rather use the Oculus touch because I think it would help with immersion.

One idea. Maybe it's not even possible to use Oculus Touch without the XBox wireless adapter!? Ok, for tracking they'll use their own camera system but what's with inputs (buttons, trigger, analog stick)? They could detect this also with their IR tracking system but this would only work with direct line of sight.

XBox Wireless adapter is based on bluetooth which would work without sight. Might be helpful in some apps (play / pause / forward / backwards in movies...). Would they really build a bluetooth adapter in their own system when they already have the XBox adapter (and would an XBox 360 adapter be compatible)?

A bundle with the XBox controller ? Why not ! But as an option !
I already have the controller and really don't want to pay extra fees for nothing !

Palmer, did you forget that you said you want the Rift to be as affordable as possible ?
Why can't you sell the Rift alone without any controller in addition to the bundle ?

The reason a lot of PC gamers don't have gamepads is because a lot of PC gamers don't LIKE gamepads.
Not a Rift fanboi. Not a Vive fanboi. I'm a VR fanboi. Get it straight.

If you are going to bundle a controller, bundle two Touches or I am not interested. I will gladly pay a bit extra for proper input.

I have an Xbox One controller on my PC, and I typically game with it exclusively. There are only a few cases where I'm forced to use the mouse, for example with point-and-click adventure games that rely on mouse input. If I was playing professionally in championships (or whatever) I can understand the mouse being an advantage. But for just relaxing and having fun, I would choose a gamepad every time.

I don't even own an Xbox. I bought the controller just for DK2. I don't need another one. $40 or so off and just the CV1 please!
