Not taking money for CV1 upfront a mistake?

Is not taking the money for the CV1 a mistake on oculus behalf. Not only has it opened the door to potential resellers chancing their arm on ebay, actually selling their place in line for a whopping $1500.00 without even owning their product.
It has also given false representation of available stock because some people will cancel. If money were taken up front only the people who were prepared for the launch would have gotten one and others would have been able to follow with no harm done. Now its all a mess and oculus don't really know how many of the actual units will be purchased. I know they will sell eventually but it looks like a big mistake to me. Im not writing this with sour grapes as im in the march delivery window but it boils my piss to see people on ebay selling something that they don't even own at a ludicrous price.

I wouldn't have pre-ordered if I had to pay three months in advance for a product I was not sure was going to be great.

I think a deposit (maybe $50 to $100) would've been a good thing. It would've weeded out some of the bogus orders and slowed things down a little bit which would've been good IMO.

Nah, what this means is come judgement day those who fail to pay simply make way for those who will which means GOOD NEWS you might have your ship date moved forwards as a result.
