It seems like we'll get:

The new Ampere-based GeForce RTX 3000 series cards will reportedly offer more VRAM on all cards, so we could see:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti - 16GB.

Maybe reduced power consumption due to 7nm. And maybe the best - if it's true:

NVIDIA is reportedly set to offer its next-gen GeForce RTX 3000 serieds at cheaper prices than the current-gen GeForce RTX 2000 series, which would be interesting. NVIDIA faced considerable backlash with the pricing on its GeForce RTX 2000 series, even though they still sold like hotcakes a price reduction is always welcome.

Uncle Tom does a nice job too - 15 games averaged:

Here the 3090 is 14% faster than 3080. Tom's Hardware says the Founder's Edition was very quiet - but it's also relatively big (2.7 slot).

I'm wishing I had a Geforce 1080 instead of a 2080 ti, because the 3080 would be looking good. I'm sticking with the Geforce 2080 ti until a 3080 with more memory arrives, and even then I'm not sure if I'll pick one up.

So far the only 2 slot version is from Gigabyte:

Actually that 3090 is so small it'll fit into most cases:

Card size: L=267 W=111 H=40 mm

https://www.gigabyte.com/Graphics-Card/GV-N3090TURBO-24GD/sp#sp

That's the one card I'd like to see dBA results from - one little fan to remove 400w of heat ... could be like  :#

Top Quality Professional Big Hair Dryer from China Manufacturer Manufactory Factory and Supplier on ECVVcom

- but I'd love a more positive surprise!

Gigabyte just says the card has this fan - and my eyes can't seem to find the world "silert" or "quiet" anywhere...

TURBO FAN COOLING SYSTEM

GIGABYTE TURBO is ideal for multi-graphic cards with a space-restricted chassis. The metal cover with the indented design and 80mm blower fan allows for larger airflow intake. With a vapor chamber direct touch GPU, copper heat sink, heat pipe and blower fan, it provides better heat dissipation.

Its weird to me that the only card small enough to fit in my case seems to be this 3090. Is there no 3080 of the same or smaller size?
Also, no sign of the FE in any store other than straight from Nvidia?

Yea I tried to get a 3090 this morning and it went instantly to out of stock for me. So I guess I'm waiting to see what that 16gb AMD can do.
