Nvidia RTX 3050, 3060 (Ti), 3070 (Ti), 3080 (Ti) & 3090 (Ti) HAVE ARRIVED (INFO AND BENCHMARKS)

It seems like we'll get:

The new Ampere-based GeForce RTX 3000 series cards will reportedly offer more VRAM on all cards, so we could see:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti - 16GB.

Maybe reduced power consumption due to 7nm. And maybe the best - if it's true:

NVIDIA is reportedly set to offer its next-gen GeForce RTX 3000 serieds at cheaper prices than the current-gen GeForce RTX 2000 series, which would be interesting. NVIDIA faced considerable backlash with the pricing on its GeForce RTX 2000 series, even though they still sold like hotcakes a price reduction is always welcome.

Got another confirmation of the RTX 3090 score in the OpenVR Benchmark:

r8wkyfkd8epb.jpg

I'm getting 35 fps in the benchmark with my oc'ed GTX 1080, and I've seen RTX 3080 scores from about 65 to 70. In pancake games, RTX 3090 may be 3 - 3.5 times faster than GTX 1080, but it seems in VR it's only 2 times faster (ok, 2.3 times faster), while RTX 3080 may be about twice as fast.

I normally only upgrade when I'm sure to get at least 100% more performance - it's the only way to be sure in gpu bottlenecked apps that all 45 fps turn into 90 fps.

Until better results are available, it does seem that 3090 is the only way to be sure of getting at least 100% more performance than I've got now.

EVGA RTX 3090 XC3 is still impossible to get - maybe I should just give $3k to the scalpers... sigh... Then again, Medal of Honor and Chronos run just fine, and I doubt more performance would move me from CV1 to Index in those games...

Get in the EVGA que for your preferred 3090 card, you can also que up for different models at the same time.
That que is why I have been enjoying my 3090 FTW3 Ultra for several weeks now.
Guaranteed place in line to get one. Might take a while though once on the list.

Been in that que for many weeks (since Nov 27), so far no response from EVGA (other than a confirmation I'm in the que). I'm in the EU, I read that the US gets the EVGA cards first. I hope there'll be some leftovers soon 😉

One seller in Spain has the XC3 for $3000 (only the XC3 is thin enough to fit in my mini-ITX case), but he doesn't do returns, and I'm not that keen paying such amounts on Ebay - the seller could just send me a brick, although PayPal probably is your friend in such situations. And what about the warranty if the card fails... For now I've ordered the card from a local shop, but they estimate not getting the card before April (or later).

My son is using his UHD 630 and keeps asking me when he can get my GTX 1080, I should never have promised him that card 😄

Hmmm, maybe I should frame this and get it on my wall...  B)

Dear Valued Customer,

You will be sent a notification email once this product becomes available.

Thank you,

Hang in there your turn will come.
You would likely get a little quicker notify with the FTW3 Ultra, but yeah it costs a little more.

Btw, MSI and ASUS have joined Gigabyte (Turbo) and also made some 2-slot RTX 3090 cards that would fit my beloved case - but I suspect noise levels worse than Hurricane Sandy  :#

At last Runesr2, that 1080 does you no favours at all.

I assume we're talking Index 144 Hz/fps (1:1 ratio) using res 200+ % here 😉

Seems like my hardware sense still works - causing me to order the 3090 Nov 27 - a few weeks before 6900XT arrived  o:)

Actually forgot to post the previous post  But now it's on  o:)

- and then I can reveal the final results that Poppin did not want to calculate - the average results when setting RTX 3090 to 100% and scaling the other cards against the RTX 3090:

v6wig2cv1cqz.png

- the raw average numbers:

RTX
3090
100% (range 100 - 100)
RX 6900 XT 88% (range 69 - 103)
RTX
3080
86% (range 83 - 94)
RX 6800
XT
81% (range 60 - 95)
RX 6800 69% (range 56 - 83)
RTX
3070
68% (range 60 - 84)
RTX
3060 Ti
60% (range 53 - 66)

This means that 3090 is 100/88 = 14% faster than 6900XT. And 3090 is 16% faster than 3080. And 3090 is about 70% faster than 3060 Ti etc.

Note that I of course calculated percentages for each of the 15 games to get correct average results - like this:

Hope you can get your 3090 soon...as the looming price increase across the board along with shortage of materials to build them looks to be another limiting factor in the Unobtainium process. Stock prices are probably going to look cheap in the days to come...sorry to say. Don't get scalped though!!!

Yes, my local shop, which cannot deliver anything, January 8 increased the price with a massive $600. For the EVGA XC3 - so it's about $3K and even more over here right now (Scandinavia with 25% VAT) - but the price on the EVGA EU Webshop has not increased (it still about $2K with 25% VAT). So local shops are turning into scalpers? Strange ... but there may be issues beyond my knowledge.

Here the price is about $3300 (DKK 20,157.00):

https://www.computersalg.dk/i/6646053/evga-24g-p5-3971-kr-geforce-rtx

I'm considering cancelling my order at the local shop and just wait for EVGA EU to get back to me, not really sure I want to pay $3000 for the XC3, the XC3 isn't even a top-card at all, it just fits my small case. Getting a 3090 XC3 is turning into an unfunny joke...  😕

Might just buy a new rig - then I can get much cheaper, bigger and better RTX 3090 cards, sigh.

EDIT: Seems like EVGA now has removed the "notify me" button, so you can no longer get in the XC3 que - it's closed  :# FTW3 is still open though, but that card is too fat - and right now the FTW3 is cheaper than XC3 in my local shops, lol.

Notify button is still there for the ultra version at least for me. I think we are in very similar situations hehe. No point buying a new PC though, since you cant get any card either way : p
Been in the EVGA queue since early october, back then i was sure i could at least get a new card in january but right now it feels like its months away.

Maybe I should just start with a 750w small form factor Corsair PSU, but that's already $200  o:) 😄

- and then RTX 4080 arrives and only requires a 550W psu  :'(

My bank forces me to pay negative interest rates, I'm forced to buy ... something 😉
