It seems like we'll get:

The new Ampere-based GeForce RTX 3000 series cards will reportedly offer more VRAM on all cards, so we could see:

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 - 12GB
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3080 Ti - 16GB.

Maybe reduced power consumption due to 7nm. And maybe the best - if it's true:

NVIDIA is reportedly set to offer its next-gen GeForce RTX 3000 serieds at cheaper prices than the current-gen GeForce RTX 2000 series, which would be interesting. NVIDIA faced considerable backlash with the pricing on its GeForce RTX 2000 series, even though they still sold like hotcakes a price reduction is always welcome.

For those interested in a bit of UE5 visuals...while not VR related...here is a look at what a chinese dev is currently working on in UE5 (early access). As a dev myself, this is really quite impressive...while given that UE5 is no where near ready for widespread dev...this showcases what is currently possible in it's current state...and is only scratching the surface of what is to come.

Things to watch for in the trailer:

-physics

-dynamic lighting + shadows due to Lumen

-animation quality

-believable ai

-detail of surrounding meshes (scene actors) due to Nanite

Oh I so hope my replacement EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra ships tomorrow. It will be coming next day air and I would love to get it on Tuesday. I will say having to go all weekend with zero gaming whatsoever has not been easy.

Pretty sure I am having withdrawals.  Starting to get the shakes. Oh man...

My most awesome EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra bit the dust yesterday. I am having withdrawal symptoms already from no gaming today.

Luckily I purchased the Advanced RMA when I bought the card last Nov. Called them up and they have already activated the Advanced RMA and I should hear back in 1-2 business days with shipping info. They will send the card next day air and I will have 14 days to return the defective card.

So hopefully by mid week next week I will be back in business.

Big Kudos to EVGA on this. Contacted Tech Support on phone and he was extremely helpful and activated my Advanced RMA right away after I described the problem.  This type of support is big reason I choose EVGA on much of my PC Hardware needs.

Oof sorry to read that. EVGA been taking it on the chin with 3090's. Their 3090's were getting torched in New World. I've been playing New World on my Gigabyte 3090 and it hasn't fried yet lol.

Glad to hear EVGA made it right quickly. It's why I still buy their products without hesitation, this happens to all of them eventually.

Looks Nice, I've watched quite a few of Unreal engine 5's demos I guess you would call them that people have made. In the beginning the only thing that stood out was the insane details on Rocks and such but here lately people have gotten everything to look pretty incredible. It's definitely a big generational leap.

Those landscapes truly are insane, never seen anything like it, thanks! - Interesting when the first UE5 PCVR games or apps arrive... And the PSVR2 may be very interesting...

Thanks - yeah I have been with EVGA on Vid cards and motherboards since 2008.

This is the first time I have had to RMA a product from them.

Wow that is some awesome textures - incredible!

Yes, those landscapes are impressive... Nanite is definitely going to turn the industry upside down. It's still in infancy presently but there is talk that it will be VR compatible for UE5 official release sometime in 2022. I'm hoping, as it will also give VR an incredible boost in static mesh visuals when done...and performnace. Foliage unfortunately doesn't work with Nanite...at least yet...but Foliage already has it's own high performance capable mode in UE4 anyway that can really pull off incredible visuals if done smartly...as seen in the UE5 video.

Yay my replacement EVGA 3090 FTW3 Ultra is out for delivery today - to be delivered by 7:00 PM.

I will be so glad to have it in and gaming once again. EVGA customer support rocked on this one. Of course I had purchased the Advanced RMA option with NDA delivery and am very glad I did. The RMA process with EVGA was entirely painless - much more so than I had imagined.
