GeForce RTX 2080 3DMark Time Spy Benchmark Leak Approaches Titan Xp Performance

https://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-rtx-2080-3dmark-timespy-score-leaked-clocked-at-2ghz-and-beats-a... https://hothardware.com/news/geforce-rtx-2080-3dmark-timespy-benchmark-leak-titan-xp-performance

EDIT 4

Nvidia 2080 first benchmarks:

Nvidia Shares RTX 2080 Test Results: 35 - 125% Faster Than GTX 1080

https://www.tomshardware.com/news/nvidia-rtx-2080-gaming-benchmarks-rasterized,37679.html

Under certain conditions, 50%< most likely across the board without the use of AI-powered anti-aliasing.

We’re not expecting to average 50%-higher frame rates across our benchmark suite. However, enthusiasts who previously speculated that Turing wouldn’t be much faster than Pascal due to its relatively lower CUDA core count weren’t taking underlying architecture into account. There’s more going on under the hood than the specification sheet suggests.

This is what I mentioned earlier. Now the 2080 Ti has almost 50% more Turing CUDA cores than the 2080, holy shit, that thing is going to be a beast.

EDIT 2
RTX 2080 at the Cologne event is pretty much confirmed in 2 more days!

Nvidia has posted a trailer/teaser that has some interesting clues about the next gen cards.

EDIT 1
Nvidia announces QUATRO workstation cards based on Turing Technology and RTX (Real-Time Raytracing)
Interesting tidbit from Nvidia press release on new Quadros:
  • New RT Cores to enable real-time ray tracing of objects and environments with physically accurate shadows, reflections, refractions and global illumination.
  • Hardware support for USB Type-C™ and VirtualLink™(1), a new open industry standard being developed to meet the power, display and bandwidth demands of next-generation VR headsets through a single USB-C™ connector.
  • New and enhanced technologies to improve the performance of VR applications, including Variable Rate Shading, Multi-View Rendering and VRWorks Audio.

Awesome work there @RuneSR2!!!

Thanks LZoltowski, I probably missed a few - and unfortunately the Gainward video was for 1080, not 2080 - I've just deleted that video, still their 2080 Ti Golden Sample looks interesting. Of course these are the early cards, possibly we'll see even greater cards in a few months.

Still, the custom coolers indicate that Asus, MSI etc have known about the RTX for long. When Huang Jensen in June 2018 told the press that Turing cards wouldn't be available for a long time, it really seems he wasn't telling the truth - and he obviously knew he didn't tell the truth. I would greatly have preferred Jensen to just have declined to comment on when Turing cards would be available - but of course we're all humans 🙂

Nvidia partners know about the cards and reference schematics and have chip samples many many months in advance if not a year or so, every new architecture has new thermal considerations as well as power delivery etc.

They are all under super heavy NDA's but they know waaaaay before everyone else,

Plus Nvidia doesn't make a chip back to back.

They have been working on this for 10 years, they are no doubt already working on if not have finished working on the next-next gen GPU's

And Jensen wanted to get rid of the built up stock of the 10 series for sure. They no doubt ramped up production during the mining craze, then that stopped abruptly and they were left with a shit ton of GPU's. Hes a tricky tricky man 🙂

I've always found that while Asus specs are sometimes a bit higher then MSI and their cards are smaller, that the MSI ones perform better and are build out of better parts. Though, I guess that would be personal preference really. Regardless both are strong brands 🙂

I agree. But MSI really did impress me with the 1080 Gaming X cooler - back then I don't recall Asus being able to achieve better cooling or noise levels:

So the race is on for the most silent and best performing RTX cooler - but maybe most coolers are great and low noise these days, we'll see... Note that dBA is a logarithmic scale, if I remember correctly an increase of 10 dBA doubles perceived loudness. So a noise level of 50 dBA isn't 50% louder than 33 dBA, but more like 4 times louder 😉

Yeah, I very much like MSI cooling fans. They are by far the best videocard coolers around.

I will probably custom cool mine when I get one, at the moment I have a 1080 with the NZXT AIO Bracket and cooled by Corsair Hydro Series H75, super quiet even at full load and temps barely reach 55c , so it's running 100% boost clock all the time, no matter what I throw at it.

Excuse the random black wires, I am re-doing something:

I'm not so concerned with noise i just want the coolest so i can OC more, what is the best card?

I'm not sure - Asus, MSI etc are still working on optimal base clocks and mem speeds for factory oc'ed cards, so info is not yet available. Guess you have to wait until after the NDA is lifted. And then there's the silicon lottery 😉

Maybe it's just me, but I'm not really impressed. If I ask my wife what's new in the video I'll bet she can't come up with anything 😉

Nvidia’s built-in screenshot tool will also take advantage of Turing’s Tensor Cores with Ansel AI Up-Res being able to turn any old 1080p Full HD image into an 8K masterpiece.

For those not really getting it (I see some people in the comments not really understanding what is being shown). One of the best moments in the video is at the 1:10 mark (see video below). You can see a number of cast shadows from the people dancing. Looks eerily realistic. Rather than blocks of darkness you are seeing darker at the base and then elongation and lighter less defined further away, but also shadows from different angles due to the various light sources. Really impressive.

This video shows more.
