Is this really new news to you? Have you been browsing this forum at all in the last week?
No you're right... I knew there was 'something' of course. I've been reading up on everything Oculus constantly for years now.
I just didn't expect this level of ghosting, honestly. The way all the reviewers were going on and on about how great OLED is I expected more. I certainly wasn't ready for the scale of the problem.
What I'm most afraid of though is this (to me at least) puts the CV1 way out... a year or more. This technology (OLED) is a complete dead end if it ghosts like this.
If it's fixable with a software release I'll be happy. But it better be fixed 100% or you're basically going to disappoint the many types of games that rely on dark scenes (Space, Horror, Anything that is at night, etc).

(btw, ebone, you are rude)
I wasn't being rude I am being serious when I wonder how he could have missed this when it has been the BIGGEST thing that I've seen on the forums for the last week.
You said you agree completely with Talon1? EVERYBODY agrees with him.

I am hoping the smearing is fixed by software but the thing worrying me is the horizontal FOV or maybe they call it vertical. I can see black lines on the left and right which seriously affects presence for me. I feel like I am looking out of a box. I have not had a lot of time with it yet so I don't want to jump the gun, but at the moment I thinking this panel / lenses was a mistake. I am waiting for my new PC but so far I felt more presence with the DK1 and much preferred the FOV/Lenses.

When I first heard all the commotion, when I got mine I went to Tuscany and looked up and moved my head to get the smear. Yep, it is there but not really even that noticeable. Especially with a fix on the way, this really is a mountain out of a molehill.

Tuscany doesn't show the problem very well, maybe it doesn't have any deep blacks. Try the Falcon demo.

Why? This will either be completely fixed or greatly reduced in an upcoming software update.
What is the purpose of bleating about it over and over and over?

You guys... I knew I was going to get harassed a bit. I'm a fan too. I'm a HUGE FAN... Oculus needs to hear this sort of stuff, otherwise we're just a bunch of yes men fan boys. We are their testers too.
If you haven't tried the Falcon demo then you do not understand. Go try it and come back to the forum and tell us it's a minor issue.
The technology that is the underpinning of the whole shebang is not working. It has me concerned. Unless it's fixed completely OLED as a technology for the Oculus Rift CV is shot. Nobody will accept it. It's not a small issue.
If I were a developer of a space sim game I'd be worrying like crazy right now.
