I think he's definitely got a few good points. I think Mobile integrated CPU/GPU VR is going to be a huge thing when we break into it.

I still think PC VR is going to continue running alongside it though, similar to how Consoles are more popular than high end PC's now and yet PC Gaming is arguably almost on the cusp of taking over after many years being "in front in performance, but behind in popularity".

Basically Integrated CPU mobile VR to replace consoles, PC VR to remain master race.

Read this earlier this morning. Some interesting comments, but it's a shame it's been translated to Japanese and back again, so it's not verbatim in his own words.

DK2, CV1, Go, Quest, Quest 2, Quest 3.

Interesting speculation, I suppose with Santa Cruze prototype we have to wonder if OVR is already embarking downing that highway (building on their successful partnership with Samsung). The question is as always will FB continue to invest in a two-tier approach?

I agree, when I read the original Three Part feature...

...I was surprised how much "concentrated" Ben had rendered it down in RoadToVR.

I think this was a issue of haste (be first to run it), along with not wanting to have to partner with the original source - [Google Translator does a good job of getting to the crux of the meaning if you are interested]

Of course they'll continue to invest in their two-tier approach. You don't invest half a billion smackeroonies into something and then drop it.

Like I've mentioned in another post they'll be making considerably more money from the Rift Store than the Gear Store despite the difference in user installed base between the two headsets. They're breaking even on the Rift hardware and are using their Rift Store as a revenue stream.

10 years from now when Facebook is still maintaining their 2-tier approach... naysayers stuck on auto-reply will continue to ask if Facebook supports a 2-tier approach  :dizzy:

As for Palmer, I dont read his stuff unless I'm making fun of it. He is just an example of how a nerd can Nerd Rage after they get a billion dollars.
