Anyone have a clue why the old Quest 1 head strap goes milky ? I wonder if they new it would do this when they chose the material to make it.
What to you use (assuming you still use the Quest 1) to remove this milky deposit.
Thanks
Umpa.

@Umpa_Quest the white bloom is one of the waxy chemicals that the headstrap is made from is being exuded from the strap and reacting with the atmosphere, moisture/oxygen. You can remove it with a dry cloth or vinyl car cleaning compounds. It also happened with the Rift CV1 headstraps and meta decided to use the same material vinyl/rubber for the Quest 1 strap.

Hi there @Umpa_Quest, thank you for your post.
You've mentioned in your post about your head strap going Milky, would you be able to provide us with a photo of this? Or a description? If you are referring to some kind of buildup on the head strap, we have some sanitation and care advice for our headsets that can be accessed by clicking here!
We hope you have a great time in the virtual world!

Turns out this is a well known and well talked about issue, I am supprised you don't know about it.
Fortunately there are good users like Oculusness to help prop up the lack luster support.
