Oculus Store / pre-orders and pre-order bonuses (PCars2)

I was planning to buy Project Cars 2 on the Oculus store when it was available, but then I noticed there were pre-order bonuses elsewhere that won't be available from Oculus as far as I can tell. How long will it take for Oculus to catch up to digital storefronts like Steam in that regard? I've been trying to keep my VR and non-VR game libraries split between the two storefronts, as Steam VR seems to add framerate/latency issues and configuration complications that wouldn't be there if I ran the game straight from Home, but unfortunately it looks like Valve is going to get my money in this case. Hopefully in the future the Oculus store won't be excluded from promotions like this, as they're pretty common with new games these days. Should I care, or does it bother anyone else?

If everybody offered the same deal, there would be no competition. You can choose to buy where you like. The retailers can choose whether or not to chase your dollar (or Yen or whatever).

In this case the 'deal' is the same everywhere you can currently pre-purchase the game, console and PC versions alike. Assuming Oculus sells the game on release day, they'll be the only storefront that didn't offer the opportunity to pick up the extra content. They're not chasing my dollar all that hard in that case. The convenience of keeping my VR library in one storefront only has so much draw if I end up paying higher prices or miss out on content. I'm hoping it will evolve sooner than later.

You don't launch SteamVR and then your game, do you? Just launch the game directly (either with the icon added by Oculus Home, or from Steam itself). You shouldn't have performance problems if you don't fire up SteamVR.
