Hi

Just had to reinstall some Mac at work, checking things in Mac OS X Finder I notice the Oculus logo - wait, what? Uh oh...I know there is not much room for design when creating an eye, but looking at Apples history, they could be getting the idea of suing. Mac Users: Just open Finder and you´ll see what I mean.

Here you can see a picture:

Must be getting old, as I am not seeing the Oculus logo in that screenshot.

on top, next to the options dropdown menu button.

However, oculus VR pupil is blue, this one is black.

You are right, but Apple has sued people for less - and with facebook funding, it gets even more interesting for them i guess. 😉

See, apples is all black... the oculus logo... has... a blue center bit....
and... has pointy sides, not curved ones.

In all seriousness, it's probably to do with things that are common place can't be trade marked or have a copyright, like hearts, stars, eyes, hands, circles, squares, triangles, etc. Otherwise every eyedoctor would be in trouble. 😄

Apple's isn't a logo. it's an icon. Big difference. If the icon was a link to Apple's super-secret virtual reality project then they might have a case.
Not a Rift fanboi. Not a Vive fanboi. I'm a VR fanboi. Get it straight.

Hmm, look pretty pointy to me. Guess you are right, there is no such thing as a trademark on lets say rounded corners...oh, wait...(yes, they at least tried). 😉

I was just a bit concerned as it could stir shit up, if apple lawyers are bored and claim copyright on an artwork, regardless of use, be it icon or symbol. Maybe i am just overcautious, borderline paranoid. 🙂
