Oculus and Movies

Hi: New to VR technology.  My friend has MS.  He's mobile but has some difficulty with motor skills.  He is so wanting a VR device that he can strap on and watch movies with great sound in 3D or just 2D.  He has a basic VR headset device that requires his iPhone to be inserted and it's just not working out for him as there are too many interruptions caused by the phone and the battery drains very quickly.  So I'm looking for a VR device that he can use for movie type entertainment.  He's not a gamer.  Can the Oculus meet this requirement and if so is there a library of Oculus movies available?  Thank you

Most the time those people poking at headset are getting fresh air or myself its scratching my nose. The fabric inside rift tickles mine and i dont have the heart to cut it out.

You can watch 3D movies in the Rift and it's really awesome. A lot better 3D effect than on cinema but the screen seems just as big. However to buy a 800$ headset for only this seems a bit of a waste to me. You could look at the Pimax headset that's only 350$ and is 4K instead of ~1080p like the Rift.

This headset doesn't have tracking and is only in 60fps though. But that would actually be ideal if you're only going to use it for watching movies. There are a few review around and most of them have given it a positive review.

Btw there aren't many films actually made for a VR headset. What I'm referring to is watching mainstream Hollywood 3D films on a huge virtual screen. You do this by downloading 3D SBS movies (from legal sources ofc B) ) and view them in an app called "Virtual Desktop", then press F8/F7 and it will merge the split screen into one huge 3D screen.

hmm, I have both of those, but don't remember seeing an option for that... you know.... to browse to your DVD/ RAY player

Surely Virtual Desktop allows you to start the DVD that is in your DVD drive?  You would be using whatever player you have of course - do you have one that plays 3d Blu rays?  I've never used them so don't know.
Big PC, all the headsets, now using Quest 3
