I have been wondering about Oculus and the future of games and apps. I am sure most of us had heard of the "stink" w/ the new Oculus developer and Bethesda having most articles acting like they will not being putting their games out for the Oculus platform. I can understand they are mad and all but would they really only release to Vive games like Fallout 4 VR, Doom and others. It would be a loss in profits not selling to the only other PC VR platform on the market, or at least that is what I keep telling myself.
Then there are games coming that are going to be VR only just for the PS4 VR like RE7 VR or Battlefront both have a huge market due to the previous games and movies. Are they really not going to think about making their VR experience extend to PC VR? I would think that would be a larger income loss for them.
What ever happened to making things cross-platform? Will Oculus try to get the big title names like the PS4 and Vive are "getting into bed with"? Has the "issues" been resolved w/ Bethesda & Oculus or are we to left out of their extensive list of top selling games?
All I know is that I don't want to be left to either "deal with it" or feeling like i am being forced to buy the PS4 & PSVR AND a Vive just to play all the games in VR me and my husband enjoy that don't want to play nice and be available on each VR platform.
Also, I would like to see more educational, historical, travel/exploration and work-related apps. I feel that in order for the market in VR to expand developers should steer away from the "game only" apps. Games are great but we do tend to get a bit bored after a while and I personally would like to see VR branch out more. Apps that are used regularly like Netflix, Vudu, iTunes, maps, etc... Right now there are 2 apps for ppl that use drawing for work, medical ppl to "brush-up" on anatomy and that is about it, well I saw a calculus one too.
Any thoughts on apps or games you would like to see for Oculus in the near future?
