Oculus custom chaperone system

Is Oculus leaking information to guage public reaction in the forums instead of just asking for our opinion directly? I may be wrong, and I might have missed the poll/suggestion on the forums.. please correct me.

A leak by Palmer to Ben Lang in July about Oculus custom chaperone system that will be built into the games themselves to suit the theme instead of a default cage for Vive.

Touch was always gonna come with an extra sensor, so it's nothing new that Rit can do roomscale. The only thing keeping Rift from being able to do roomscale the same way as the Vive is the lack of tracked controllers. Now they say the update allowing four sensors that Rift and do roomscale, but that is wrong. It could do roomscale before the update, as it supported two sensors already, which is the same number of sensor/lighthouses that Vive has. So Rift could already do roomscale, and having 4 sensors just increases perfomance, and trackable playspace. It seems the authors of this article are a little ignorant to me. Also they give a blatantly wrong interpretation of how Vive's chaperone system works. I don't trust these guys.

@Mr.Creepy the highlight of the article is at its very end. The quote about Palmer pulling Ben aside to show the custom chaperone..

Yeah, it just annoys me that they don't really know what their talking about when it comes to the chaperone system, and Rift's roomscale capabilities. Let's hope that the Oculus chaperone system is indeed coming, and that part definitely seems to be true.
