Eventually after many years with Oculus it's clearly to see that company target are casual players and own ecosystem, Oculus is no more VR flagship. Personally I want no cheap solutions, downgrading every new device model. Oculus now steps away from beying the best VR experience to being the most accessible. Thanks for introdusing to VR world, but now our ways are no more crossing, i need the best VR, no the cheapest and simple. Hope Oculus will be ok, but I moved to valve index now. Sad to accept it.
ps Thanks for Lone Echo btw, sad not see second part.
Long live the king

Maybe at least hang around for LE2, lol!

Yeah I too hated to see Oculus go down this path. At one time I was so anxious for and so looking forward to a true Rift CV2. Thankfully we have others that still cater to that market.
However I don't blame them and give them credit for going after increasing the overall VR Market with their Quest 2 which can double as mobile and PC-VR through Link or wireless. At this time that is not for me, but as anyone can see from the multiple game forums Quest 2 is gaining a lot of traction. And that is a very good thing for the VR market overall.

With quest 2 unlocking 120hz, and well above 2k per eye resolution, no base stations needed, no computer needed. Its not a step down, its a step in the right direction at under 300 dollars.
Add a powerful enough computer and wifi 6 router, air link is untapped potential.
Valve index used to have the selling point of the high refresh rate at 144hz, i can live with a 24hz disparity. Valve index has not moved the needle in its run.

LE2 is the only reason to stick around. Only 1 reason is not much rly

Totally agree. But anyway there is no enthuthiasts solutions anymore, only casual. I'm not casual so i have no reason to blame Oculus as you mentioned before, Oculus do his job, i just want to have the best technical solution that Oculus can't offer. Not now, not in future

And minus 10 degree of vision compared to PREVIOUS versions? That is one of the most important immersive attribute. Plus weight. Minus sound (compared to CV1). Minus precise position and manipulators recognition (onboard cameras on Oculus VS stations always looses to stationary ones).
No PC needed? I dont consider VR mobile gaming, only best games, graphic and immersion. Valve index still have best anti-moskito solution, in spite of resolution btw.
What Oculus do? Oculus moves in masses. But i'm not masses, i'm anthuthiast one and i want best VR solution. I'm ready to set sensors over my room if i get best experience after. I want comfortable solution, with best FOV, resolution, sound, positioning, weight, controllers, etc.
I exchange 120 hz for +30 degree of vision, coz you dont need 120 hz really, if you loose vision.
With every next version of headset Oculus do one step forward and two steps backward. I sick of it really. It becomes effective management. So no blaming really, but, as i mentioned before, Oculus is no VR flagship anymore and (the most important!) don't tend to become it. Oculus don't give the best VR experience but the most available. Personally, i need not the most available, i need the best one, that;s the reason
