Oculus got it right

I have to say, up until now from when I got my Oculus at the end of April, I have been underwhelmed. I mean at first I already had the DK2, so it was more of the same, and I was dissapointed by a lot of old software and demos not working, with limited content.

As time passed I eventually got it working with Assetto Corsa, and a few other titles, I bought a few games, but not much wowed me.

I can honestly say, that now with touch, and the quality of the controllers it feels like a complete VR system. True the next thing will be walking around in large spaces and on treadmills! But for now, even games with the teleport function are so much fun. I bought DamageCore, and only played a few rounds, the teleporting and just looking to shoot became tedious fast. But now with such great hand controllers, it has bought everything together.

I think the overall quality, solidness, ergonomics and performance of the controllers are well worth the price, and I mean, £70 of that price is for the sensor. A normal console controller costs £60 when released each, so these are well within a reasonable price for what they are.

Anyhow, I am finally a happy customer, touch has now bought the system up to what it should be, and all I can say is long live Oculus VR!

Hmm, that doesn't seem to happen with me. Where are your sensors? I have mine shoulder height and about 5 feet apart

Not to disagree, but I played for almost 4 hours last night (many of the games you mentioned) and I had almost 0 tracking issues.  Should you maybe run your setup again?  I want you to have the same wonderful experience as us!

i also feel the same way and am pleasantly surprised at how good it is. true there is some latency on the finger and hand tracking but not so much that i notice it unless looking for it. wish i didnt have to go to bed.

I think this is quite possibly the first positive comment I have seen from you. What's wrong? I prefer your normal grouchy self. If the effect of Touch is to make you always positive then I think that's the first negative thing I can think of about Touch.

I have re-set them up 3 times. 5 feet apart shoulder height, i have tried placing them a bit higher but even then in the setup you can see they lose tracking if you go too low(say if you had to pick something up off the floor like in Arizona Sunshine) even in the centre of the room(no desk of anything blocking the view). Or another issue is if your body is blocking the touch which it can easily do if you are facing enough to one side or have two hands together. Even facing forward hands by my side touch pointing towards the floor tracking is iffy.

Have you checked the second sensor? Mine for some reason has given a tracking error on occasion, and needs a reset, when it does, touch is literally being tracked by one sensor.

Is there a good way to test the sensors anything in the log files that would show if there is a problem?

Also anyone know what the tracking range of these is in distance?
