Oculus migration just now

So here is the deal, with just about 1 email per year (looks like) it doesn't seem that anyone was aggressively pursuing the idea of persuading people to "move" (come over from) Oculus to this Meta platform, at least this is my impression.

I did just complete the "migration" process but used the Oculus headset that was GIVEN TO ME as a gift so rarely that I honestly have very little clue or idea what it is capable of doing!  Just some feedback in case the marketing people happening to come on here and read posts to gain insights.

In fact, my Oculus experience was using a previous Smartphone and so I have NEVER tried using it on my current Samsung Galaxy phone!

The concept and ideas of VR and AR are interesting to me and, really, I would like to see a VR desktop of Microsoft's Azure portrayed as Windows 11 now that I support this type of product and am engaged in a Service delivery role as my job.

If anyone wants VR and AR to catch on more, hmm, let me take this WFH situation I find myself in a VR it!  I might enjoy having a "virtual office" with all the work applications and resources 'floating there' in front of my eyes -- only I need to be able to see the keyboard in front of me because I am NOT fully a "touch typist".  I simply think an immersive office environment with Logitech headset on COULD potentially capture a full 100% of my attention and provide greater clarity leading to greater productivity.

As things stand now, flashy, splashy, colorful products are nice and all, but a 3D VR/AR office-space reality might be even better!  I would like to try the gloves that track my hand and finger motions, enabling me to touch and open software programs such as... Notepad, and run a softphone application such as those made by Cisco in order to call clients, speak with them and take notes on their unique technology experiences WHILE being fully immersed.  I think this is going to happen eventually but, not if the only emails related to it come to me once a year or... once in 8 months!

Meta, you all are lucky I noticed the message to migrate this account at all -- then searched my email for keyword "Oculus" to reassure myself I even HAD an Oculus account.  Wait, let me get the VR headset box off the closet shelf in the bedroom and blow the dust off it...  Honestly, the 'trial' apps I saw with my Oculus were interesting and all bur, there did not appear to be very much content to ACTUALLY explore back then -- was it pre-COVID?  And I know that I didn't play with it again during lockdown at all.  Nope.  So, there is some free, volunteered market research on the things SOME of us have done with this high-tech gadgetry over the past 4 years.  Maybe I am not the demographic Meta wants to reach, needs to reach, or is overly interested in reaching?  Would I buy another next generation headset, for example?  Yes, maybe, if I could connect it to my ASUS Tuf Gaming F15 laptop and then launch Microsoft's Azure Virtual Desktop and experience that in VR, because the laptop itself still runs Windows 10 and I have really no incentive to 'upgrade' it to Windows 11.

I hope this 'Off topic' post aligns with some experiences of others and that they (you) will Like it, upvote it, or contribute similar comments to explain any interest in VR headsets and VR experiences.  I an posting this between 12:30 and 1:15 a.m. simply because I appreciate innovation, engineering and imagination that much!  Really.

Have a great Thursday you all. Thanks!

It's better to list your ideas and submit them individually so people can like or comment on here...

These are a list of your suggestions.

1. Send more frequent emails to remind users to migrate from Oculus to Meta account, especially when users have not logged in for a while. This would avoid users losing access to their content.

2. Create a more immersive office environment - a virtual office environment with all the work applications and resources "floating" in front of the user's eyes could potentially increase focus and clarity, leading to greater productivity.

3. Create engaging and innovative VR content and applications, especially for work-from-home setups, to use for more work tasks that could improve productivity. For example, any advancements that make virtual reality a more integral part of daily work and communication.

4. Sell VR gloves that track hand and finger motions to enable touch interaction for opening and using software programs such as;

- Notepad to take notes with a users preferred technology while being fully immersed.

- Running a softphone application to call clients

5. Integrate seamlessly with existing technology platforms like Microsoft's Azure Virtual Desktop to enhance virtual work environments and complement the capabilities provided by Azure, aiming for a more immersive and efficient workspace.

6. Add support for Logitech headsets for use in immersive environments
