Oculus mod faceplate glasses.

This is for anyone having problems using the Rift CV1 while wearing glasses.
Before trying this mod I could not put on the Rift while wearing my glasses. The foam would squeeze the sides of my glasses way to much. Even when I finally got it on after first inserting my glasses, I experienced what others have said, that the Rift would then put too much pressure around the nose.
Now I can slide the Rift on and off while wearing glasses! The pressure on my nose is gone. I also can see just as well as with my contacts in. I am really happy right now. It is actually comfortable. I didn't want to have to wear contacts every time. Felt weird doing this to such a new and expensive item but was worth it.
I originally saw this on a Reddit post.

Just revived this post to thanks JayVaughn for what he found in reddit at it helped me a lot. As I didn't want to cut the inside part of the foam as it's irreversible I decided to use electric tape instead. I didn't want tape to stick on the foam itself so I doubled it with another peace of tape inside, but not all long. So I was able to strongly tighten the tape and stick it on the plastic side of the faceplate and not on the foam itself. That give the same result (slightly less thin as foam stay complete and due to the tape itself). The result is night and day as I can finally keep my usual glasses (without frame) instead of using an old pair of glasses. The headset don't push on my temples anymore, my nose is not squeezed anymore, and glasses fit perfectly in the headset. No light is coming from behind me so no problem at all. Perfect! I usually can't do more than 2 hours in VR and yesterday I was able to do 5 hours straight without any pain, forgetting I have glasses and headset on my head (in Obduction). I'm more than happy now 🙂

Good thinking guys. Yo, I have a feeling though that someday if you ever take that off, it will more or less have caused an irreversible damage to the foam any ways 🙂

Hopefully this is an alternative to those whom are not going for the glasses-less approach as I talk about here continuing from reddit

Go to VR cover/lens. You can get a faceplate for glasses and glasses for VR as well. I would recommend their stuff...

Their 'stuff' is known to be low quality and not fit properly. Hence why we've had to come up with our own methods.

Yep, cost is a problem, and VR Cover & VR Lens seems not to be (currently) the best approach due to some feedbacks. I'll wait for more positive ones. Waiting this, the tape or cutting of foam as OP seems a good workaround for now, at least in my case that give me the extra millimeters (around 7mn) missing to feel fully comfortable with my usual glasses. So no reason for now to go another way, I'm more than  happy 🙂

They had problems in the beginning, yes. But now, there is no reason to say such things anymore. I recommend their stuff. Tested it by myself. And I'm not paid for.

Is the material and pattern design of their standard cotton VR cover the same?
Do you own the revised model with the straps?

How about the lens adapters, you have the new versions as well?

The only way you could make such a claim is if you owned all the Rift products before and after any updates they did. And if so, then please share your actual experiences.

Just checked VR Cover website and the only faceplate I found for glasses his longer than the original (so deeper), and deep is not a problem for my glasses, but have exact same width which mean branches of my glasses will not fit the way I did with my tape stuffs. The foam they propose don't seems to be enough thinker than original. Mmmmm not really convinced...

Edit : and as my method solve the problem but are not really permanent (nor esthetic) I'll go for the one proposed by OP soon.
