Oculus payment system SUCK! Please design manual system instead.

Now I dont mean this to come across rude what so ever but your payment system really sucks, for a company that is owned by another billion dollar company FB, surely you could have designed a much better payment system.  After all you guys have a ton of programmers working for you?!

Surely it would have been much better to have a system where we (the customer) order the oculus rift through our oculus accounts, when the order is ready to ship we are then given 48hrs to make a payment through a manual system where we manually enter our preffered payment method.  This would surely stop many problems happening like the ones that have happened to me.

I have now had my credit and debit card both blocked for whatever reason and I have way more than enough funds on them both.  Your emails state to "update payments details" and the same thing happens again and again.  I have since updates them to use PayPal so hopefully this works... But seriouslt Oculus team you guys should be ashamed of this poorly designed Order/Payment system that you currently operate.

Even the support team are hardly any use and can give no reasons as to why payment isnt going through. Going by Reddit and other forums I am not the only one having issues with this.

I know your support team are trying their best and must be super busy answering epoples questions so shout out to them for their hard work but again your payment system sucks big time and is darn right embarrasing.

Anyway I am sure it will soon be sorted out and I will hopefully become a very satisfies Oculus user.

Yours Faithfuly

A Frustrated Oculus Customer.

I agree the system could work better, but the manual process is only needed in cases where something goes wrong. For example, if the credit card charge is declined, a typo in the address, etc. I'd recommend contacting Oculus Support. Thanks.

Hi,  I already contacted them and to be fair they wernt much help and didnt tell me much.  They even said that my updated details have resolved the issue but how can they tell that unless they take a payment...  Found out both of my/wifes cards were blocked today.  Anyway updated them to PayPal now so will see what happens.  The point is that their system causes a lot of issues and a  manual system that allows users to input details and pay would work much better.  A lot of online payments require "visa verify" or "mastercard verifiy" too and doing that manually would stop banks blockign cards.  Especially when Oculus, if true, for some reason seem to be trying to charge a small amount before a larger amount stright after ( I read this in these forums) as this just looks to the bank like a fraud attempt.
