Oculus ready PC wasnt ready xC First thoughts on my oculus rift

So.. long rant but, I received my oculus yesterday, a month early. Took me awhile to set-up because I had to run to BestBuy to get a HDMI to Display port converter because my oculus ready PC only has 1 HDMI port that works it has 2 but the 2nd one is towards the top of the PC & neither the oculus or monitor worked on it so idek what that's for. After hours of searching for a cord in my basement ( I saved my oculus ready PC box with the mouse & keyboard that came with it to see if it actually came with an adaptor since its suppose to be "ready" but no go)  & then sitting in traffic to get to BestBuy... I was quite frustrated but finally had everything up & running. I was so happy to finally put my rift one but then...I felt a little Disappointed ?

The quality in my opinion is a little worst than the GearVR & the FOV looks the same .Also that nose gap, ugh, I could see my feet & it just ruins the immersion.

On the positive side, Turning off the lights helps with the nose gap, probably a little piece of foam will fix it though so...won't be a problem once I do that. Also, unlike GearVR there's no lag & it's a lot lighter on your face. The roomscale it has to it was really cool, I was able to walk circles around stuff & crawl on the floor & it tracked me every step (I did end up hitting my head under my desk though! xS lol)

Since it was already really late from all the time I spent running around after work to find this adapter I really just felt frustrated, tired, sweaty ( I'll admit, when I tried different cords around my house & none worked I called up my boyfriend in tears for help xD) and crying always gives me a nice migraine soooo I ended up crawling to bed soon after. I think how I was already feeling before putting it on had a lot to do with my disappointment.

I woke up feeling very refreshed this morning & have been having a decent day at work so far, so, I'm hoping when I get home & try it again tonight I'll have a much better experience !

For anyone still reading (thank you!) I don't have very much content In my oculus account yet, does anyone have any recommendations for cheap game or games off steam that work with oculus ?? Thank yoouuu!!

The "other" HDMI port is most likely for the on-board GPU (mainstream Intel CPUs have built-in GPUs), in case you can't/won't use the GPU card... but you'd want to avoid those (on-board) as they're nowhere near sufficient for the HMD (or much else).

I really like BlazeRush (which is not my normal kind of game), Virtual Desktop (bought on steam, used the cd Key to put it on oculus home) Adr1ft is pretty cool, and if you want a game to play with others "Keep talking and nobody explodes" is pretty fun, with one person looking at a bomb in VR and another person in the room, unable to see the bomb trying to tell you how to diffuse it. Be aware though if you're playing this with your SO, it might lead to a fight lol.
