I actually think their overall PR is astounding. As someone who gets their Tweet notifications I'm constantly seeing various press from both Oculus and the media about how "amazing", "magical" and "groundbreaking" The Rift is. Where they are letting anyone down is "fan service". This is a bit more niche, but they probably need to cater a little more to what the fans want and not just the media. Now again, compared to the other two (Sony and Valve) I think their PR has been better, but there's definitely room for improvement and hopefully we get some of that "fan service" soon.

I like how oculus works but it seems to have a few things it constantly does that could use some work.
1. hold on to big info and then release it at grand events, while holding even more big info that they might release later.
2. Mostly let a "people will be the judg, Not I" type feel to them.
I know they release a lot of info and very nice with releasing the specs but does it feel their PR is a bit abnormal? Maybe its just me, in which case this thread can be removed but has anyone else noticed that it seems odd how their going about their biggest thing yet?

You're not wrong, warownslife. The PR department could use some work. Especially damage control. When Brendan Iribe let slip the $1500 gaff, for more than a week news sources reported it as "Rift is going to cost $1500.". As far as I know, no retractions or corrections were ever asked or offered.
Oculus' "slow drip" info feed creates more frustration than anticipation.
