cybereality
Grand Champion
Hey everyone,

By the end of this week, we'll have shipped over 16,000 DK2s worldwide.

To those still waiting for your kits to arrive, thank you for your continued patience. We’re doing what we can to get your DK2 to you as quickly as possible.

To those who have already received their kits, we hope you’re enjoying experimenting, building, and creating new VR experiences. A special thank you for everyone’s help testing the latest SDK. We know it’s still rough around the edges, and we’re squashing bugs as quickly as we can. Watch for an update to the SDK in the near future.

Thanks again!

As I wrote in the other thread:

In terms of E-commerce, this may mean that the storage depot has arranged with UPS to have each packaged picked up, been given a UPS number for each package, however the packages have not actually been picked up yet for delivery which is why no more information is given as it's not hit a "checkpoint" being the delivery van yet...

Perhaps :?

There should be a raporting system for raporting people reselling DK2.
If they are found guilty of resale they should be permanently banned from ever purchasing any Oculus produkt.

I have my DK2, but i know there is ALOT of people waiting, and waiting, and waiting.

Here in Norway people are selling it for 950$

but the performance is not so well...maybe becoz my pc is very old.. some latency and lagging when trying the demo.

What can you do if people are willing to pay it?

I wonder how many people will get their rift, spend 2 days faffing about with it, moan about the lack of content, blurry cones and screen doors and then sell it for double the price?

Anyone able to give me an estimate for my order placed on the 4th of August? Not impatient at all, I am just wondering when to expect the Rift!

Thanks to anyone that can provide an estimate. 😉

Yeah... think so 😛 My HTPC runs an E8400 with a GTX470 and that would be the bare minimum for demos, nvm full games.

Check the /r/buildapc subreddit over on Reddit and ask around for a good medium spec machine - i5 quad core with GTX760ti or higher. I take it you're just an enthusiast and don't want to do any developing, if so do a bit of googling for the kind of power you need, there's plenty of configuration help threads here in the forum if you search around.

You're lucky to get yours so soon, my water cooled dev machine is begging for DK2 😛

20k per month since july 24th. You're probably around the 55k mark. Depending on your region you can probably work out a 2 week window from this info. First two weeks of october something like that.

After a missed delivery last Friday, I've finally received my Rift at the office. 😄
None of the PCs at work have good graphics cards (these are business PCs) so tested it on a current model MacBook Pro using the new 4.1 SDK. Desk Demo was good. Tuscany Demo...nice then nausea. I need my VR legs and probably some setting changes. 😮

Will set this up at home on my iMac but can't wait to build a new PC rig for the Rift. Come on...release the new NVidia 8 series GPUs!
