I think the side you want to support is the side that is open and doesnt want to build walls....unfortunately Oculus is focused on that. That i bet is one of the reasons (as well as probable legal issues to do with their officially supported launch titles...) ED wont be working at launch whereas it will work fine on the Vive. ...hrmmm.
I doubt it is due to technical difficulties i really do.

Which are nice devices but pretty much only available in the USA and in the case they are sold in Europe, Shipping is outrageous on top of the already extremely steep price of 1200-1500 bucks for the device.

With 2 cameras in front of you, that roomscale experience will only work facing the cameras with the Oculus Touch!
It's a bit limited, but better than nothing i guess!
You can't track the touches When you turn 180 and your body are between the cameras and your touches. No line of sight.
I'm sure also the Vive will have some dead spots also, but not even near the Oculus Setup.
Just remember, Oculus was designed for a seated and front facing tracking while Vive had an different approach....

If you are worry then just put in additional lighthouse to cover the blink spot. Its just that simple. While what is your option in Oculus? Adding in additional camera is not that simple. Do you have enough USB port? Cable tethering back to PC? Is the game working with additional camera? All this can potentially be a problem,

The Omni is $699 with a ~$150 estimated shipping to Canada. I'm seriously thinking of preordering one just so I can walk from one end of Skyrim to the other in VR.
