Hi, today i noticed that if i close right eye and look at something with my left eye and adjust my rift unit so the object come sharp and then i close my left eye and open my right eye. Without moving the rift unit and looking at the same place, the object is blurry for that eye. For it to be sharp, with my right eye, i need to move my rift unit to the right for about 5mm.
So one eye is always seeing things blurry. Is it suppose to be like this or is it some kind of bug?
This is caused by the pupillary distance. This is something that will or should be addressed in the CV1 release. Basically the lenses need to be positioned directly at the apex of your pupil for each eye. The way the DK's are set up, they are in an average distance from each other so whether you're eyes are close or far apart, you will still at least get the correct look. I had this problem with the DK1 but I still got a great experience out of it. No doubt having one eye blurry took away from the overall sharpness of the image you perceive.
I'm thinking, like the way you can turn the dial to move the monitor out, there should be another dial in between the two lenses that push or pull the lenses away from each other.

There have been a few threads about this issue. I also noticed this myself, particularly in the left eye.
As the others have said the issue is probably the ipd and the staic position of the lenses. One thing I noticed with DK2 its seems you have to use the ipd calibration tool for best results, in DK1 simply inputing my ipd was sufficient. My ipd is narrow (56-57) and my issue seems to be on the inside edge of the lens. I would be curious what someone with a large ipd was experiencing.
I saw a post here or on reddit where a savvy hacker had made a 3d printable lens adjuster for DK2, I assume it’s the same person who developed the version for DK1.
