I got a "Your Oculus Rift Order is Shipping Soon!" email. Hopefully that means I'll be charged soon and my order will be on it's way a month early. I was actually going to cancel my order if nothing good was announced at E3, so I guess they are shipping just in time to avoid any cancellation. You'll be glad you did not cancel it I received my shipping soon on June 9th the rift was at my door on June 10th believe me it was well worth the wait hope you enjoy yours as much as I do mine

That would be a terrible idea. if people still have 6 weeks to wait until their original estimate and you send an email saying make sure everything is correct and ready and then nothing happens for 6 weeks.

That will piss people off even more not satiate them.

For all people afraid by the "Your Oculus Rift Order is Shipping Soon !" "maybe fake" mail, I've asked the Oculus Support who just confirmed it's genuine 🙂
However I've asked a confirmation that my Headset'll be shipped this month, so way before my estimation (7/25/2016 - 8/4/2016 ) but no answer 😉

I know my Shipping Soon email is genuine but am starting to wonder if it is a stooge message.  They took my money out of paypal right away last Thursday but there was no guarantee regarding when they would actually ship. It is entirely possible that processing the order and taking the money is a way to allay some anxiety & build excitement for a few weeks.  I sure do hope I am wrong though and it really does ships this week. 😮

A user base so paranoid that even when it gets good news it looks for the catch. Oculus this is what you have created.
I got one of these email too, early Saturday morning and I'm a happy bunny that something is happening and not looking for an issue that doesn't exist as I have enough to worry about from this forum like bent HDMI pins or weird screen effects or a DOA rift etc. etc.

I received an email that my order had shipped. I got a tracking number and the eve Valkyrie code.
UPS states it was just a label created, nothing has shipped its been a week now and nothing. After an email saying they would look into it 5 days ago. STILL nothing! no reply, no update, nothing!!
Worst customer experience so far. I mean the vive is shipping in 2-3 days, im about to jump ship

@RobHermans Those are indeed the correct emails from the real Oculus folks. I got the same mails before the weekend. BTW do we know if the Oculus is shipped as Priority Mail?

If you're referring to the images I posted, yes I know, I have received my Rift already.
If you mean my reactions to other people's mails, I can't say for sure, but my links do not have those trackers, and they are not received from mail179.atl101.mcdlv.net so I don't trust them.

mcdlv is a mailchimp(dot)com account which companies use for marketing so it is quite possible Oculus use it for their mass emails.
Mailchimp is a legit company. Doesn't mean the companies that use their services are obviously.

edit: I've just seen the other thread on this subject so ignore this post and read that thread instead.
