My Oculus app on my Windows 11 machine informed me that I needed a "driver update". I agreed to it. But now I see that I have an unwanted app running at start up, Player Location Check. I do everything to keep my system free of garbage running in the background.
Anybody else run into this? The only place I can think of that this came from the "driver update". Yeah this made my blood boil. This is not a "driver". It's a program that spies on my location. If it's needed somehow all of a sudden they should say why and not just add this to your computer and give an option to run it ONLY when such information is approved by myself. I DO NOT CONSENT to sneaking this crap onto my computer.

Are you certain it came with a Meta update? It's a third party system related to online gambling so I can't see why it would be pushed by them.
"Player Location Check by GeoComply is a software solution that enables online gaming sites to verify the location of their players with pinpoint accuracy. This technology is used to ensure that only players located within legal jurisdictions are allowed to participate in online gambling."

@CrazyGuy247 Just like @user_901925786032222 mentioned this can't be inserted on your PC by Meta. Exactly what they mentioned a Player Location Check is for that. However, if you happen to have Windows and Macs this will be there already that I know off.
