All makes sense. Kind of begs the question, and I don't need a response on that one, there's tons of threads on the subject and don't want to hijack this one. Could I not use my aging 660 ti and lower the graphics settings in game?

I highly doubt it, a 660ti is way way below a 970 in terms of performance. I don't even know if "made for VR" games in the oculus store will have adjustable graphics setting. Even though oculus says a 970 is the recommended spec, I feel like it's more like the minimum to have a good experience.

You get what you pay for, and with the PlaystationVR Headset you'll be getting a single screen instead of the CV1's custom VR designed dual screens.

And it's not like Oculus VR forgot to think about cutting costs by replacing dual screens with a single screen... It's more like they started with one screen and concluded that however expensive, the (custom) dual screen solution was worth every last cent it would cost.

Also don't expect the PlaystationVR's price revelation to be set in £ : No offense but the PlaystationVR is more likely to include two passthrough cameras then have it's price revealed exclusively in £.

If it's close to that price they'll sell 10 million!

If it's half decent, they'll sell a lot more than that. If it does come in at this pricepoint, it'll make the Rift look seriously overpriced, unless there's a huge difference in quality.

This is Sony. They know how to sell stuff (hardware) at a loss and still make a profit (software).

There are only 36 million units of PS4 sold worldwide. You really think that every 3rd owner of a PS4 will buy a still pricy VR headset? I guess you've been too much in VR forums so you lost your objectivity. Most people still don't know VR or even if they do they don't care. If they sell a few millions (<5) that would already be great.

And how many more are they selling each month? The price of the PS4 is now around half the price it was at launch and still dropping, so is a lot more affordable.

Assuming the PSVR does come in at this £350 price point, I can see PS4+VR bundles available before the end of the year for £500 or less. If (And it's a big if) VR does take off this year, it's going to be in demand for christmas presents. What would you buy your kid? A £500 headset that needs a beefy pc to run or a £500 console that includes VR?

I haven't lost my objectivity. I'm just speculating like everyone else. It's all ifs and buts and maybes until solid facts are released. But if this price is correct, and if the PSVR is half decent, it's a huge boost for VR, and it WILL sell a lot.

I thought people were savvier regarding click-bait techniques and marketing bullshit.

Then well, I guess not. Anything said by the Express, Daily Mail, and papers of that ilk is very rarely worth the paper it's written on. Any 'price leak' / 'mistake' by an online retailer should be viewed with suspicion.

Same thing with, what was it, 'Vive at $1,100' on Amazon the other day? Yeah, whatever.
DK1 FREAK...
