Hello all, the big one is launching very soon. Rather than having a billion threads on it, lets all share and discuss in this thread to help others make an informed purchase!

Core i7-7700k @ 4.9 Ghz | 32 GB DDR4 Corsair Vengeance @ 3000Mhz | 2x 1TB Samsung Evo | 2x 4GB WD Black
ASUS MAXIMUS IX HERO | MSI AERO GTX 1080 OC @ 2000Mhz | Corsair Carbide Series 400C White (RGB FTW!)

Be kind to one another 🙂

As a side note - I did try installing Reshade 3.1 on SkyrimVR. It detected and installed and allowed me to set up my normal options on the flat screen. The settings did take effect on the monitor - but were not passed through to the Rift. It is a shame - as I wanted to see if I could add a bit of colour correction and cell shading to the game. lol

Also I played for a while with it installed and my presets on and did not notice any significant FPS drops or stuttering during gameplay - so if it could get passed through to the Rift I don't see it being a performance issue... I am just not sure how to make that work or if it is possible.

Somone is working on ENB shaders, currently, it wont work as the HMD display is a Direct Mode device

Wait wait wait!  How do you sprint!?  Can you sprint?
I just watch a PD video and he was sprinting.  What are the button combos for this?

I've barely been able to play. Just moved into a new place (hence the no Internet), and my gaming room is a part time storage area while we sort everything out.

Have you set the SteamVR super sampling rate to 100% and disabled Dynamic Resolution in the game options? Are you using OTT or the Debug Tool to super sample?

Yes, I actually posted this issue in another thread but many people with high end rigs are reporting the same problem, including myself running a GTX 1080. The only solution I've found so far is using the Oculus tray tool and changing the ASW to 45 fps instead of Auto. This fixes the stuttering but makes me motion sick fairly quickly when it didn't before. It appears to be the Oculus software causing issues. Really hoping this gets fixed soon!

I can't remember how you do it now off hand but there was a thread about a while back on how to stop Oculus Home from starting. I think you need to find the exe file and change it to Run As Administrator in the options.

When Steam starts Skyrim VR you'll end up with a Yes/No dialog box popping up instead of Oculus Home launching.

Have you tried running it in full screen mode? That gives you a boost of a few fps because your GPU isn't drawing your desktop or other windows such as Steam etc.

I've hit 38 hours...  Still amazed by the 'feel' of the game world in VR against flat!
Got a mod or thirty installed and no issues on stuttering as has been mentioned a few times on this thread, but I think that is more luck than anything else 🙂

Re-opening Tamriel in VR is even more fun than in the original, even walking huge distances doesn't drag on as the world is much more immersive (and distracting!) and progress through an ever changing landscape begs the chance to just stop and look around.

I think it is too easy to spend longer times in VR as your eyes are 'looking into the distance' rather than close up to a flat screen - absolutely brilliant! (and good at eating controller batteries)

Yup. I love horsies but am not going anywhere near on for this game. Walking around and seeing the scenery is amazing.

To be honest, I don't know where you guys are even finding the time to talk about this.

Me ... I can't talk ... got to get back to Tamriel. ::wink:

Between playing Skyrim VR, girlfriend time, Electrical foreman building 50 story highrise, real life... I'm not really sure myself...LOL!!!
