i seem to be getting no help with this! I have had my oculus rift for a week now and I still can't play project cars! I'm getting no support and there are many on various forums with this issue getting no answers! I purchased project cars from the oculus store and when I launch it from oculus home the project car logo appears floating with please wait under it but the game never shows up in the headset although it pops up on the monitor! Please help!

Did you ask Project Cars technical support? I would go thru there before going thru here.

Did you ALT+Tab to see if it's not running in the background, why don't you start it outside of Home (by finding the .exe) and then look at the graphics options in-game?

I don't know what else to tell you other then if what I told you doesn't work, contact Pcars support directly

Strange that i simply had project cars installed in steam from before, installed the oculus home app (And i have DK2) and didnt even hassle to try Project Cars through oculus home ( getting a oculus cd key or buy it at store even) .. I just ran PC through steam and it automatically started in VR for me.

I tried everything, I started directly from folder on desktop, fiddled wirh settimgs and nothing. I already have threads open with me and others having this issue and no help in almost a week with solving it. How do I use the headset in steam? And how can I run project cars through steam? When ever I put the headset on it automaticly opens up oculus home and puts the home menu in the headset.

The way it should work is: You should start Oculus Home first, and then indeed you are watching the home menu in the Rift. Then you start Project Cars from steam in the regular way (so just from the desktop client). And then it should just open automatically in the Rift (first thing you get the regular light gray disclaimer page)

He bought the HOME version, not the Steam one...

To use the headset in Steam you have to Start SteamVR

Oh sorry. I read the comment three comments up where @smoovone mentions steam but did not read the OP. If you didn't buy it on Steam obviously you don't start it from Steam.

I don´t really know what OP is doing. If you have the steam version then you just start the game through steam normally. It then should power up the rift and you should be able to see the game in the rift and on your screen.

If you just have the oculus store version then you simply launch it from the store like any other app.

There is no need to fiddle with anything. I suspect you did fiddle a bit too much somewhere.

Things are getting a bit misunderstood, I originally said I have the oculus version in which I'm starting in oculus the way it is intended, but it will not start...  it just has the logo floating with please wait under the logo and it starts on the monitor but never starts in the headset. That was my problem. Steam was mentioned and I started asking how I can start it from stream instead since I also have the steam version. However I may have another problem with trying it on steam because I only have 1 hdmi on my gtx980 graphics card so I can't see the monitor and the oculus at the same time using that card. But I really just want to get the oculus version working as it is supposed to.
