i seem to be getting no help with this! I have had my oculus rift for a week now and I still can't play project cars! I'm getting no support and there are many on various forums with this issue getting no answers! I purchased project cars from the oculus store and when I launch it from oculus home the project car logo appears floating with please wait under it but the game never shows up in the headset although it pops up on the monitor! Please help!

If you have the Oculus Home version of Pcars, you won't use Steam VR at all as Pcars has direct Oculus VR support implemented. You should be able to launch Pcars directly from your Oculus Library assuming it is fully installed.  You may first get the standard Oculus Health disclaimer that has to be satisfied, after that - Pcars should start normally.

Even with the Steam version, Steam VR is not needed as the game also have direct OVR support.

Unfortunately when I start the game with the oculus version I get no disclaimer and it starts on monitor but I'm stuck wirh a PC logo wirh please wait under that but it never starts...

Ok so I started it from steam version this time and I got that disclaimer everyone said I should see and I focused on it and it then went back to that same loading screen that says please wait  :s so I'm getting this same issue when starting both the steam and oculus versions of the game

I can confirm my steam install does in fact run on 1.3 at the moment

i have everything closed but steam

Pcars opens with oculus home

Hey smoovone, in fairness to the makers of that game would you object to changing the title of this thread?  I played Project Cars today on my Oculus DK2 and I know many people here have played it on their CV1.

Technically Project Cars plays fine on the commercial Rift.
Can I suggest "Need help getting Project Cars to run" instead?

I actually started a thread with a title like that and got zero responses, but as soon as I posted again with this title that expresses a little more urgency and frustration I immediately started getting feedback and help.... There are allot of people besides me with this issue and all are frustrated with the lack of support. I also finally got a response from them acknowledging there is an issue.

I finally got it to work! Thanks for all the responses! I had to disable my Intel apu as suggested! Now if I can only figure out how to up the resolution because it's fixed at 1280x720 60hz

The rift runs at default and does not need to be the same resoution as your monitor..

Ok so there is no way to up the resolution in the headset? It just runs as is?

Yes I think so as that is what the runtime is programming it to do..
