I already talked about this issue in another post, but Because sinse I was in contact with the technical support. I learned new things about the issue and I was asked to post it in the forum so here I go.
As I was saying in the previous post about the topic, I found out that the battery is getting suspiciously hot.
When I am turning on the device, the battery starts off at a reasonable level of 27C
But while the device as being in use, the battery temperature was steadily climbing. The highest it reached was around 45C ( Maybe it could have being even higher if I would have allowed it to.)
To make things even more alarming, all it took In order for the battery to start building a heat was for the device to sit idle in the home environment.
The first and most obvious conclusion was that it might be a hardware issue
But after asking around and somebody else told me that his quest 3 suffers from a similar problem. ( baterry heats up and fans only starts to ramp up when it reaches 59c)
Becuase of that, I decided to check my second quest 2 which up until now 99% of the time was sitting comfortably at its box and had barely seen any use.
Low and behold. Buttery is heats up in a similar manner.
At this point, I begin to wonder if this issue is a result of a software or a firmware problem. And so I bring it to your attention because I think this is something that the dev team or the QA team may want to look into.
