Yeah, nice summary... I've not really been keeping up with all the leaks but I did note the 10th October date from a retailer website placeholder.
Also heard rumours about a cheaper Quest Light but I would have thought the Quest 2 would fill that space if the plan is to continue selling it.
13700K, RTX 4070 Ti, Asus ROG Strix Z790-A Gaming, Corsair H150i Capellix, 64GB Corsair Vengence DDR5, Corsair 5000D Airflow, 4TB Samsung 870 , 2TB Samsung 990 Pro x 2, DK2, CV1, Rift-S, Quest, 2, 3, Pro, Windows 11 Pro 24H2 (10.0.26100)

I wonder if it's a way of encouraging more Quest 2 users to upgrade to a headset with the new SOC. That way game development may take advantage of the new chipset faster with less thought going into making it run on the older hardware

I wonder what they'd economize on with a Light.
Another rumour I heard from one YouTuber was that the Quest 3 will be dual screen based on one website spec listing but all the rumours up to then were saying single screen.
It's all up in the air. The problem previously is that some people built up big expectations and then got quite angry if one or two of the specs weren't what they wanted... stand by for those posts 😶
So many rumours this time though!

The one thing that gives me hope is that Zuck said it would be 40% sharper. The resolution alone is only 30%. The only way it could be sharper is by having 2 screens.
You're quite right, if there's going to be a cheaper version perhaps we're in for a couple of surprises yet. I guess they could make the lite version have a very basic AR experience as that will make up alot of the cost difference

Aaaaaaand here we go…with upgrades there goes a thousand plus USD….but probably well worth it! 😂

Another little leak today, VR panda on twitter has uploaded a picture of a separate charging dock for just the controllers. Seems likely that both docks will come with some sort of rechargeable battery replacement

Really looking forward to the Quest 3! The dual screen rumour is a big deal for me, if true. That would mean that the IPD adjustment could go higher, into the 70's like the CV1 and Q1. Also excited to get both IPD and eye relief adjustment together in one headset--the eye relief is just a rough three-position thing rather than a dialed adjustment, but having the option to get my eyes closer to the lenses is still appreciated.
A charging dock for the headset would also be pretty cool--these days I just keep my Q2 plugged into the Link cable for development, but if I could easily put it down and get a charge top-up between uses, that would mean I could use AirLink instead of the tether, without worrying about the battery lasting all day. Not so worried about the controllers, since the Q2 ones last so long on a battery, and I suspect the Q3 ones will last even longer (fewer LEDs).

The 2 screen thing would be massive, makes such an improvement to sharpness too. I easily could see the edges of the panel in the Quest 2 and it's such an immersion breaker! The Pico 4 has 2 screens I believe
