Are we expecting Link/Air Link to work exactly the same? I suppose no new tech has been introduced in the past year so I assume it will...
I'm just thinking, will the official cable be exactly the same and work with Quest 2 and 3?

The new GPU should allow for a faster decoding time and has support for the av1 codec which could be implemented into airlink and link.
I use virtual desktop and I do get large spikes in decoding time depending on the game, fingers crossed the Quest 3 will be buttery smooth!

I'm going to say it'll be the Link/Air Link as usual but will have the 6E wifi hardware that's in the Pro.
I'm still not quite sure what benefits it gives if your current PC and router don't have 6E but I know I got better Air Link performance with the Pro than I did with the Quest 2 on my last PC which didn't have 6E. Then when I built the new PC with 6E it was equally good, I just don't have a 6E router yet.
It may be that the signal or reception is just better (edit: or as @J40NYR mentions above better coding/decoding from the processor?) It's pretty much faultless for me now (provided updates don't break cabled Link!!) but I'll still get a 6E router when the prices come down.
So yeah, I'd say the official cable won't change.

That’s an elegant (and space saving) design. Looking forward to the 27th!

The VR Panda dock is curious. If all of the packages come with a combined headset/controller dock, I can't see VR Panda selling many controller only docks unless I'm missing something.
Maybe a package with just a headset dock so people can save a little money and use their current AA charger? Quest Light economy package?

Is there no other way to charge the Quest 3 other than the charging station?
I mean... if so, the charging station only for controllers could make sense.
However, you cannot use the wristbands with this charging station.
I need them.....I'm always afraid the contrllers slip from my hands and I throw them away😂

That's a good question.
If the Quest 3 uses wired Link as well as Air Link, same as the Quest 2, then I would have to assume it would charge, and stay charged via the USB cable, otherwise you couldn't do wired PCVR sessions longer than the internal battery would allow... and there's no point removing USB charging ability from a USB connection. So yeah, I'm assuming you'll be able to charge the headset via regular USB-C if you wanted to. Basically same as the Pro, use the dock or the cable to charge.
Edit: OK so my bad, looks like the dock is just an accessory, not included in the package, that makes sense.

Yes, that's how I understood it.
And charging via USB were my thoughts.....saves some money.

I'm really hoping they release a new version of the Logitech Chorus VR Off-Ear Headset. I love those things and will miss them on the Quest 3. My only real downgrade worry.
