I picked up a Quest 3 today. The facial interface is too narrow and does not fit my face properly. Is there a wide interface available anywhere? Or any other solution? If not I will have to return the headset.
VRCover is coming out with their "leather" facial interface for Q3 in December, fingers crossed it's as good as the one for Q2. Apparently I have sharp cheekbones or something. The stiff stock interface hit them just right and created hot spots right at the bottom of my eye sockets. I did buy the silicone interface from Meta and that is definitely softer, so conforms to the face better, as well as a Bobo so the pressure is off my face.
AMEN to that. I just got mine today and the facial interface is horrible. It's like wearing shoes that are a size too small -- it's made for people with narrow faces, and I have broad cheekbones. It also feels very hard -- hardly any padding or softness. Super uncomfortable, I can't see playing for more than 15 minutes or so, it gave me a face headache.
The Reverb G2 default face gasket had the same problem but there were aftermarket choices for more comfortable, wider versions. Which I immediately purchased.
Assuming everyone's face is the same size and shape is pretty dumb actually. Human skulls and face bones vary enormously in shape and proportion. Comfort is everything in VR equipment, no one can play for long when their facial nerves are being crushed or pinched. I guess Meta is counting on the aftermarket to save this product for people who don't have Barbie-face.
Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything about this personally, as I'm more on the support side of things. That doesn't mean it's not being looked into, as things like this can take some time. As I said in my previous reply, I always recommend posting any feedback to the Ideas board to bring more visibility to your suggestion, as this is the best way for the right teams to see what users want!
