Quest 3 referral

Does the device referral work for quest 3?

And most importantly does it work for someone that already has a quest 2, can you refer them to buy a quest 3?

Look here

It says the friend have to be  new Quest user.

So, probably it won't work.....I don't like that!

Why not honoring if I can animate a Quest 2 owner to buy a Quest 3??

Just try...maybe you are a lucky guy and it works😁

I don't think making a new account is a great idea.

He can't use the games that he already bought at his first account on the new device.

That is it not worth.

Whilst it may be techncally possible, it's against the rules so you run the risk of coming up against account problems with Meta.

Also, as far as I know, the primary account is the only account that can share apps on the headset and the primary account is the only one that has access to the mobile app. This is also something that could cause an issue.

Might not be a good idea to promote or admit to doing it on the forum. Much better if you can get some friends to have a go on your Quest and one of them decides to buy one with your referral code.

And now that he posted about about breaking the rules, his account can get shut down.  lol

You'd think Meta would allow referrals to existing Quest 1 or 2 owners considering how much they are charging for the Quest 3.  A lot of people can afford $300 for a Quest 2 but $500 for the 3 is a big ask, so getting a $30 credit with a referral for games is nothing to Meta.  But they don't care, it's all about greed.  Zuck ruins everything!

What's wrong is that's not how it was intended.  You found a loophole and are capitalizing on it by getting account credits.  Just because you can do it, doesn't mean it's right and shady in my book!

Using a friend's referral is great, that's what it's all about and a fantastic way to save some money, I thought this thread was describing creating a second account in order to refer yourself. There are issues as I've described and that's the risk being taken.

I'm not going to say don't do it, but I'm going to say it's maybe not a good idea to promote it on the forum. The last thing we want is someone to have a problem with their account, and I suspect the first thing they'd say is... well it was described on the forum and Meta should have said something if it wasn't allowed! Have a check of the rules please.

A similar thing in the game referral rules is that those referral codes aren't meant to be listed on forums for random people to use. The rules are there, I'm just saying it's good to read them and not risk a problem.

When doing a referral not as intended then it's cheating, plain and simple!  And at some point it cause Meta to stop the program.

Somehow you misunderstood  the meaning of "friend" referral.

Sending a referral to a friend means NOT spaming a link in a forum.
