Quest pro charging dock

Does anyone know if the charging doc that comes with the pro prevent overcharging. Im aware it's inherently not a problem cause of built in charging control but I'm concerned about my prolonged battery life in the future that could be shortened cause of me keeping it on charge

Hi @MERRICK0703 , from day one I've pretty much always had my Pro on it's dock when not in use and I don't see any degradation in its battery life. As with all rechargeable devices, it's the device that controls the charge and they do a pretty good job going into a very low trickle charge mode when full.

However, to get the longest life out of a LiPo battery, apparently the best practice is not to charge it to 100%. Given my experience with phones and these headsets, I have a strong feeling that the devices in-build battery management employs good practice so that the batteries never get truly fully charged but I'm guessing.

All I can say is that I've not experienced drops in battery life from any of my headsets, including the Pro... nor my phones... nor my tablet, which spends almost all of its life on a bedside charge dock and its a very old tablet!

What I do try to avoid though is deep discharges, but again, I believe the device battery management prevent that.. so I suspect it's indicated charge level has margins top and bottom to avoid full charge and and deep discharge.

In short, I've never been too bothered and I haven't yet encountered shortened battery life. There are also lot of users who have there headset plugged into their PCs for long periods of time for PCVR, so effectively constantly on charge. I don't remember hearing of battery issues crop up on the forum.
