Hello everyone,

Today I went to see the movie and I really liked it a lot. To me it was such a great movie. I enjoyed all the moment during the movie.

Some people didn’t like it I know. But as someone who didn’t read the book, I liked it.

This is not a thread about the movie but about the concept actually. When do you think a life like Oasis will exist in our life? I know we are not far to that but how many years do you think? 5? 10? Maybe more?

I don’t know how we would live our life if something like that existed. Just asking opinions. I know there is a game called Fighting for the Oasis just came out 2 days ago, I haven’t tried it yet but I’m sure that’s just a game. I wish there was a game not the same for now but a least close to something to the life like Oasis. I’m sure this will inspire many people to create something like that.

No doubt that something similar WILL happen.

If you look at VR chat, there is a need for people to interact in three dimensions, people are buying full body trackers and using Kinects to interact with people better in there. No doubt it will happen.

Wait....Kinects?  Interesting....I have a spare 2nd gen Kinect and a spare USB adapter from when I got my Xbox One X.....I wonder how I do this trick.

Maybe Oculus Go kind of tech is a start 🙂

Great film for my kids but total VR nonsense. It was painful watching people running through the streets with VR helmets fighting, Erm how do they see where they are going, what happens when they hit a brick wall in the real world. People all punching and kicking standing next to each other for lords sake.

The technology they showed in the film is pretty much here now, save the full feedback suits and the oasis which is just software and completely possible to be created today. That far in the future there will be an Autonomic diversion system more akin to Sword Art Online. Similar to when you sleep and dream. Nature has already solved that issue for us.

I always believed Facebook would create the oasis and was the primary reason they bought Oculus but the Facebook spaces is staggering in its lack of imagination. What we need is somebody who is willing to think big.

If you want a ready player universe to the same level as the film which is pretty disappointing, in 10 years you can be guaranteed of that.

PS Read the book it is much better.

Someone told me the rec room is something getting there but not even close 🙂 Maybe the seed stage. But it’s not just the software, I think Oculus Goggle has to be improved too. I still feel sickness sometimes when I look through the goggle more than 30 minutes.
