Did you mean:

Rift CV 1 > Vive Pre

People are already saying that Rift CV1 is far better than Viva Pre, e.g.:
https://www.reddit.com/r/oculus/comment ... cv1_demos/

So, looks like that's it. We are paying a lot ($600 or more, depending on where you live) for a A+ product.

That, or you could wait and also pay a lot for a "not that good" product.

Sadly GOOD new tech is expensive. It's up to you to decide if you want to buy it or not.

PS: for people like me, that had problems with the pre-order, see this and keep calm :).

I mean people, you know, plural. I see one guy on your link.

You know, I think it is more like a tradeoff between price and quality.
Oculus chooses quality, and some people are mad because of that.

Are they comparing it to the new Vive Kit 2 (VK2?) or the older one? Seemed for sure like the former, based on that first post anyways ("chaperone is just a grid")

To be fair you are comparing a release version to a engineering prototype. Once people get to try a release Vive we will be able to say what one is better. That said as they both launch at the same time it should be close.

But also to be fair when first Vive came out everyone was saying: look resolution is so much better than DK2, completely disregarding the fact that DK2 was a dev kit and there was already Crescent Bay out with similar specs. So HTC/Valve have to accept you have to have it both ways.

Edit: with that said this is the first time I see people saying CV1 offers better experience. That might be just down to the bugs ands errors. People that were given a dedicated demo in a hotel room seemed more impressed with the Vive.

Good news about the ergonomics and the set not wobbling when you move your head which is really annoying on DK2. Really bad news about pentile dots, I find them super distracting.
