Hey guys, how do you get Oculus Desktop? I have no such icon.  I've tried exiting and re-entering the beta, leaving the beta, going back to the old Home..

Any ideas?

What version of Windows are you using? (I think they've said that you need Windows 10 for Oculus Desktop.) The button should be beside the Store button, where you have a blank black space.

Edit: Yup, Oculus Desktop requires Windows 10.

I'm on Windows 10, fully up to date. I had the desktop icon when I first joined the beta but at some point it disappeared.

Well, I'm back up and running, albeit running Oculus Home Classic.  In case it helps anyone else with dual monitors whose desktop has been messed up, this is what I did.
  1. Switch back to Oculus Home Classic (in the Beta section of the new Home).
  2. Reboot.  (Unusually, when I rebooted Oculus Home did not start automatically, which may have helped).
  3. Stop the Oculus Service.  I used the excellent Oculus Tray Tool, although I'm sure you could do it manually.
  4. Put my Windows Display Settings back how they should be.  (With the service stopped, the settings could be applied).
  5. Start the Oculus Service.
  6. Start Oculus Home.

So far, it has survived one reboot, although I did, for some reason, need to restart the Oculus Service again to get the Rift working.

Hope it's of use to someone 🙂

I've submitted feedback via Oculus Home and raised a support ticket.

In 1.22 I have to use oculus classic or Project cars 2 launches only in VR, not on monitor and no mouse or keyboard functions work. So there is a program fault with Dash. Oculus,  I`ve paid to use PC2 and enjoy it, so can I be assured that you will keep the ability to use classic home in the menu till you`ve sorted the bug responsible out. Thanks.

i dont know why but ive actually some  stuttering performance issues in my 2d games after this update ( using old oculus home while doing so). i fiddled with my nvidia graphics settings for some time prior to this patch thinking that might help solve it but to no avail. at some point i discovered that the update that allows for the new oculus desktop app layout seemed to be the issue because i noticed that the stuttering dramatically decreased when opting out of the public test beta and reverting back to the version of oculus home that didnt have the new layout for the oculus desktop app. kinda a bummer for me since i just got a new 144 hertz monitor and everything was running smooth before then =(
