Run the 3 cameras on USB2 ports thanks to the new ASW feature

I read somewhere that the rift will support USB2 for the cameras with the new lower spec requirements thanks to ASW.

Does this mean that we can set the forward orientation in oculus home without having to have the 3 cameras in a USB3 ports? (In my case, the reset option was ghosted until I plugged the camera into a USB3 port because the software said the Intel USB2 port was incompatible even tho it worked fine.)

In other words, 3 cameras will be 3 times as hard to sort out the USB issues.

Is the hardware test going to be more forgiving for the touch and roomscale configurations?.

The requirement for the USB ports should remain the same, this is because ASW aims to ~halve the GPU requirement, but the amount of tracking data collected remains the same.

USB 2.0 has been supported since the beginning. If you are having USB issues, it's likely due to an unsupported USB controller or outdated USB drivers.

The new minimum spec reduced the number of USB 3.0 ports from 2 to just 1. Is the camera or HMD the one that requires the 1 USB 3.0 port?

The camera can support 2.0 port.

It'll be the HMD that requires the 1x USB 3.0 ...
