I was just wondering, if I order the Oculus Touch from Oculus.com, will the new £99 listed on the page be my final charge or will I be required to pay an import charge upon delivery? I've been blindsided with this before on products shipping from America, where I assume the touch will come from?
Wow! Thanks very much! I bought the original release Touch for £190, but returned it for a couple of reasons.
At £99 it's definitely worth getting again - I had no idea it had been reduced in price until I saw your post. These days I just use my Rift for DCS World and P3D (and the odd racing sim) so haven't bothered keeping up with what's going on.
Have to wear gloves, though, as the funny plastic on the Touch gives me a nasty skin rash.
Edit: Interesting to note that Touch is still £189 on Amazon UK.
I noticed that too! My initial thought was to order the touch on Amazon when I saw the price has dropped but it's still sitting at £189 on there...I wonder if it will indeed go down soon! I'm so looking forward to it arriving; I'm interested to see what the plastic is like. I've never so much as seen a touch in real life let alone used one! I mostly just use my rift for cinema apps but I'm hoping the touch will squeeze more use out of it.
I've got a friend coming over next week for his first ever try of VR. He is going to do a few laps of Cadwell Park in P-Cars (it's just ace in the Ariel Atom) because he has a track day next month and wants some practise.
I hope the Touch is here by then, so he can have a quick go in Dead & Buried as well (and Doom3 - it scared the wits out of him on a monitor over LAN, so in VR he's gonna need new underwear!). With the price drops, I reckon he is likely to want one.
