I noticed that while not using the rift, and while it is on the orange light, the headset gets warm. Sure i can press the button to turn it off, but if i restart the PC, it goes back to the orange light. I'd have to have to press the button every time i turn on the PC and not using the rift. To fix this, id just unplug the headset until next use.
Am i overdoing it. Can i leave the rift on the orange led status without a worry?
I turn the Rift off (using power button on the Rift) between uses, but have never unplugged it from the PC. If I was using external power for USB I would probably unplug that when not in use.
When not in use, I never leave the Rift on with orange or blue light showing.

I always leave it on because I believe it's nothing more then standby mode. This is how I see it, but I might be wrong if someone wants to correct me. I don't get any heat when I leave it on. Well, nothing I can detect anyhow.
