Hello Rifters & Vivers,

I sold my Evga GTX 980 Ti for 500 Euros, used for almost 6 months now, Friday getting this one ---> http://www.pccomponentes.com/asus_geforce_gtx_1080_8gb_gddr5x.html

What do you think?

Nice dude. I got my GTX 980 Ti 2 months ago and regretted that...
Facebook bought Instagram. How exactly did they ruin them?

@Lemming1970 how can u possibly say a 980ti is "struggling" in vr that makes no sense at all.

Guess it depends on his configuration but I've had no problems with 980ti and VR, the frame rate never drops below 90fps, I've seen reports of the 970 doing so though.

Problems in Project Cars and Hover Junkers trying to maxed out with 980 Ti, but I think is also CPU related cause all my cores are almost @ 100% can also be game optimization.

I have the standard evga 980 OC. Would I see some good improvements upgrading to the 1080 ?

Pcars is far from being ideal, It's an amazing game but there is a compromise to be made to keep the frame rate up. Especially with lots of other cars on the track or rain. Frame rate even with it being maxed out can drop to around 50fps. Unless someone has a magic setting I can try to get the frame rate up, then the GTX 980 Ti is struggling.
and it's not the rest of my system that's an issue.
i7 6700K o.c. to 4.6ghz

windows 10 pro.

Hence why I said if the VR figures turn out to be 2-3 x better it will be a no brainer for me.

Frame rate checked using evga precision.

Using the Asus rog 980ti matrix and FPS never drops below 120. I'll most likely be holding onto mine until the 1080ti comes out too

@EliteSPA I think your talking about this thread I started, there was another user using DS9X. The settings I posted were using DS4X to be honest I have no idea about computer graphics settings, I had just been messing about trying to get it looking as good as I could while still being smooth and playable.

There is definitely room for improvement but i put up the settings I was using as a starting point for others who were struggling to get it looking good and I was hoping to get others to share their settings to give me an idea of settings I could be reducing/increasing etc.

I found it very playable on my i7 3930K 4GHz + PNY GTX 980ti XLR8 (No OC) and only got a bit of stutter during heavy traffic, or rain (it was fine with the rain too if there was only a couple of cars)

Waiting for a 1080Ti or at least a non-reference version of the 1080... Reference coolers are usually loud and not as efficient as third party.

@AnotherCrazyCanadian If you bought a EVGA you can use the step up program to trade it in...
