The guys on oculus-rift.ru are still selling DK1 for 1190 USD and Rift-uped DK1 for 2570 USD. They also claim that they are the official Oculus VR distributor.

The core of the problem is far more demand at the price they are offering than the supply that is available. The best way to solve it is to ramp up production as fast as possible to meet the demand.

I selled my preordered PS4 after just 2 Days because someone gave me 900 EUROs! for it. So i took the money made a nice vacation and buyed a new one 2 month later. :lol:

Not to be a grammar Nazi but there you go, I understand English isn't your first language so am just helping out. 😄

Also this isn't the same as PS4s.

Soaking up limited stock of devkits purely to flip them for easy profit puts many of them out of the reach of developers. And development is vital to the future of VR, not someone's personal gain.

And selling a console in a private sale (which you are completely entitled to as it was a retail released product - the dev kit is not) is nothing like the contemptible assery going on with these ebay DK2s!

I had a pre-order for PS4 day one but cancelled it some months later due to lack of games on the horizon but I guess I should have kept my place (was the pack with camera in too) and flipped it as new on ebay for similar profit as yourself. However it would have been bought as a single unit intended originally for my own use, these guys are buying multiple units like a co-ordinated attack. I'm very glad oculus is dealing with many of these people (intentional resellers; just like scum of the earth ticket touts that ruin concerts due to half empty venues)
