Some Dick on ebay say's he has 3 DK2 for sale

You're right, now I see the reason they closed those auctions: it's because Oculus told them DK2 is not on the market yet and ebay's policy states that you cannot sell a good which you don't have in your hands, though it's perfectly legit to sell it at whatever price you want once you own it 🙂

So, starting from the second half of July, we'll see the first "legit" ebay auctions of DK2 kits, once they arrive in the hands of the first "re-sellers" (those whose orders were not canceled) 😄

Poor guy.

Waited all that time to squeeze those nickels.

Now he'll have to find other nickels to squeeze.

Happens all the time with hot new BMW (and other car makers) models. A person pays $1k for the production slot, and 1 year later sells it on ebay for a $10k to 20k premium as the model comes up to it's delivery date. (depends on the model, etc)

Regardless, the impression is that the 'pre-stock' before actual release is seemingly a more real consideration before the first batch is released (DK2 vs the DK1)..and a higher number of orders is probably going to be filled in those initial batches..and that alone will, in all likelihood, notably cut back on such behavior.

I bet a lot of those initial day purchases were re-sellers. Obviously not all, but I would wager that a majority of those now reselling, or planning to bought very quickly on the first day.
