Firstly, the most obvious thing is a pretty severe colour "bleeding" effect for anything that's not directly in my field of vision. This just looks like a yellow/green smudge. The greater the colour difference, the more noticeable it is. Most obvious is black-on-white, and looks to be about 3cm bleed (not on screen, relatively speaking). This is more noticeable on B cup than A.

Secondly, the tracking seems to be fairly choppy, even when the camera is in the line of sight.

Thirdly, and most obviously, there are black zig-zag dots going down the screen diagonally. This is more noticeable in lens A.

Fourthly, It's almost impossible to focus on anything other than a very small radius from the centre. I have very good peripheral vision usually, and this effect is really quite annoying because of that.

Lastly, I notice that apps are almost impossible to launch in VR properly. For some reason, the only apps that work are Virtual Desktop (when I have set the DK2 to "Landscape Flipped" in screen resolution), and the demo scene.

This is uncorrected chromatic aberration (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chromatic_aberration), make sure your IPD is set correctly and you have the dial positions set in the configuration utility properly.
Oculus are apparently working on this issue too."fabsterpal" wrote:

Oculus are supposed to be working on this, there's loads of potential causes, make sure the extra USB power is plugged in (its listed as optional in the manual AFAIK - I dont have my DK2 yet), keep framerate at 75 or higher, make sure nothing is running in the background etc etc."fabsterpal" wrote:

Is this in bright scenes/dark scenes or all of the time? Have heard about some green artifacts in black images but not black dots appearing."fabsterpal" wrote:

This can be related to incorrect IPD, but in general this is an issue with the way the lenses are shaped, don't think much can be done about it."fabsterpal" wrote:

Yeah, configuration's been a pain in the ass since DK1, but thats what you get with a dev kit! All we can do is wait for Direct to Rift mode to be fixed/made more compatible.
There needs to be a quick tips/FAQ thread, there's loads of threads like this popping up.

Thanks for that. The measurement utility for IPD is absolute garbage  Apparently my pupils are 6.8cm apart. Not even close! For anyone reading this, get somebody to measure it for you with a ruler:
