Game purchases aren't clearly identified on credit card statements. Things I (or rather my wife as primary account holder) bought appeared on credit card statement as (apparently random) 10 characters followed by "Dublin IE". They were listed as "Recurrent" even though amount varied slightly.
I didn't remember the purchases and there was no way to identify the merchant from the statement.
I rang my credit card provider and they too couldn't identify the merchant. I decided to block future transactions in case this was something fraudulent. Later I eventually worked out that these were games for our Quest 2 so I phoned card provider back to get the block lifted.
This worry and confusion could have be avoided if Meta had included reference to the company in the transaction. If my credit card statement had listed the transaction as something like "Meta Quest ..." it would have been perfectly clear what it was.

Hey there @HerculesIronworks! We see how it could be concerning to not have identifiers on your purchases. Each provider may display the transactions a little different. Have you tried another payment method, such as Pay Pal to see if its the same? If you think it's an issue and would like us to look into this further to help clarify anything we can. Feel free to reach out over a PM any time from our Profile Page.

My bank statement lists Quest games as "VISA PURCHASE PAYPAL *METAPLATFOR" and the Quest 3 as "VISA PURCHASE FacebkPrtl * Meta Stor".

I'm in the UK and my statement says 'Meta Store London' for both my Quest Pro headset and games purchases. Quest 3 payment hasn't been taken yet (all payments via a debit card).

Thanks for the response. That's exactly the kind of thing I want. Either of your variants would have given me enough info to work out who I had paid.
I don't know why my transactions are listed so cryptically. (I'm in UK and purchases are linked to a Mastercard).
Cheers.

Thanks. I don't need to pursue this any further now that I have identified what the transactions were. When such weird looking items appear on future statements I'm sure I'll recognise them as Quest purchases. That may be a bit of a bold claim - who knows what my crumbling brain will or will not remember in a few weeks time. 🙂
(As a general point; I was really surprised that my credit card provider couldn't identify the merchant. If it was something I needed to chase further it would have been really difficult to know what to do next).

Thank you @HerculesIronworks, glad to hear all is well for the time being! Feel free to reach out over private message any time should further questions arise! This does not seem like a common issue, most order IDs are about 15 digits long, but we will keep it in mind for the future just in case.
Thank you again for bringing this up. Stay safe, and game on!

I had the exact same issue and was just concerned after I realised this seemingly annonymous account was taking money out of my account. After checking your post I instantly realised and then it made even more sense when I was subscribed to MetaQuest+.
